You Made Our 7th Annual LDV Vision Summit a Success!

We kicked off our virtual Vision Summit with a fireside chat between Rick Heitzmann, Founder and Partner at FirstMark, and Evan Nisselson, General Partner at LDV Capital. They discussed the next billion-dollar computer vision companies ©Voice in Shape

Our 7th annual LDV Vision Summit was a great success! A huge thank you to the hundreds of you who tuned in from at least 15 countries!

We are so grateful, in these times, to be able to connect with all of you investors, entrepreneurs, technologists, executives, writers, and more who are as passionate about visual tech as we are. Thank you for coming together with us to examine the incredible opportunities for computer vision, machine learning, and AI to improve business and society.

We love getting perspective from our community so we have gathered images and quotes about our 7th Annual LDV Vision Summit below.

A special thank you to all of our speakers and partners as our Summit would not exist without their collaboration!

“Congrats, amazing, 7 years of the LDV Vision Summit in New York and this sector has evolved so much. Really amazing that you started off with a somewhat contrarian futurist perspective on computer vision. Our co-investment in Ezra and others in our portfolio such as Pinterest and Hyperscience are proving that your thesis is working today.” - Rick Heitzmann, Founder and Partner at FirstMark

“It has been about 8 years since AlexNet. There has been an AI boom since then. Reflecting on what Evan and LDV saw and identified all the way back then - I can hardly believe this is the 7th LDV Vision Summit event. Hats off and congratulations to the whole LDV team for having that vision.” - Azeem Azhar, Founder of Exponential View

“LDV's Summit was an inspiring experience as a first-time founder. Listening to world leaders in the visual tech industry provided incredible insight into how founders, technologists, educators and investors are shaping the future as we know it.” - Derek Stewart, Founder of Teddy

“Best curated conference I've been to. Real insight into the future of Computer Vision technology whose impact keeps growing.” - Julian Green, Co-Founder & CEO of Headroom

“The future isn’t virtual, it’s visual, and the LDV Vision Summit brought correcting glasses to my view of the present of perception tech and to what it meant for the future of our societies — hats (glasses?) off to Evan and LDV team!” - Paul Papadimitriou, Founder of Intelligencr

“The 7th LDV Vision Summit was a truly global event with people joining from all over the world. It’s that rare chance for hundreds of people to gather and discuss advances in visual technologies and how they affect the way we (will) live, work and play. Universal benefits from articulating our interest in commercializing these technologies with a curated community of entrepreneurs, technologists and investors at the summit.” - Abhijay Prakash, President of Universal Filmed Entertainment

“Enjoyed speaking at the Summit this year and hashing out what is hype vs reality in the perception space. Can always count on LDV to challenge beliefs around the "status quo" to find the greatest opportunities for businesses and technologies to succeed.” - Dragos Maciuca, Executive Technical Director at Ford Motor Company

“I know it is their tag line but the LDV Vision Summit truly is the premier global gathering in visual tech. At Lux, we never miss it and are always happy to take the stage and share our thoughts around the greatest opportunities in visual tech with this fabulous community.” - Deena Shakir, Partner at Lux Capital

“It was such a pleasure to be invited to speak at this year's LDV Vision Summit. It was a true "meeting of the minds" in visual tech and really delved into the visual technologies that are powering tremendous business opportunities.” - Trang T. Nguyen, Co-Founder of TI Platform Management

“Congrats to Evan Nisselson and the LDV team for putting up this great event. I especially enjoyed the conversation between Abigail Hunter-Syed and Hayley Barna, and also the panel discussing how automotive is driving the cost of 3D sensors down for everyday machine’s perception. I can’t get over the illustrations that were drawn during the summit! It’s the first time I was seeing a virtual event with this and it made SUCH A GREAT difference, keeping me engaged at all times and even entertained. Also, the gender balance of the event was amazing, and I believe this is part of the LDV mantra. It makes the event so much more compelling!” - Dr. Veronique Larcher, Director AMBEO Immersive Audio at Sennheiser

“The LDV Vision Summit did a great job with its diverse speaker lineup – allowing me to take a step back from creeping myopia and to learn about visual technologies in a broader context.” - Edward Chyau, Managing Director at Mesh Ventures

“So many thought-provoking points of discussion. Can't wait to see how the things we spoke about pan out over the next few years. Visual tech is a fascinating space to be investing in.” - Sarah McBride, Reporter at Bloomberg

"LDV summit provided great insight into the broad world of visual technology from AI and computer vision in industries such as agriculture, healthcare and automotive. It was a fun and exciting presentation from various companies of the vast opportunities and impact that visual technologies will have on the future." - Viraj Shah, Photonics Engineer at Voyant Photonics

“There is no doubt that advances in AI, machine learning, and computer vision are revolutionizing all industries and that’s why it’s important to get your annual update on all things visual tech at the LDV Vision Summit.” - Hayley Barna, Partner at First Round Capital

“I was super impressed by my first LDV Vision Summit.  The team curated 15 informative sessions into a four-hour package with none feeling too short or dragging along.  Even though LDV is a deep-tech visual tech investment firm, they were able to connect the dots out to the business problems that the presenting companies were solving.  Visual Tech is now a strong horizontal component to almost all tech stacks and LDV was there first.” - Bill Tobin, Partner at LearningEdge Leadership

“I really enjoyed taking the stage at the Summit. The topics were stellar, the discussions were in-depth and you could really feel the energy in the "virtual" room.” - Sumanta Talukdar, Founder & CEO of Gardin

“Fantastic showcase of businesses leveraging cutting-edge computer vision. It was great to be a part of it.” -Matthias Niessner, Professor at Technical U. Munich and Co-Founder of Synthesia

“I’ve been attending LDV Vision Summit for years now, and I’m consistently impressed by the caliber of speakers at the event. The LDV team has cultivated a community of cutting-edge thinkers who are able to share their insights in compelling and understandable ways – even virtually!” - Samir Kumar, Managing Director of M12 – Microsoft's Venture Fund

“Last week I attended LDV Vision Summit. Their chat with Mr. Prakash, President of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group got me thinking I am still on track with investing in automated visual storytelling, building social environments, and creating visual tools for storytellers.” - Martijn Brouns, Founder & CEO of Floop

“This was my first Summit, and I was very impressed by the engaging topics and fantastic speakers. What a great event!” - Kelly Chen, Partner at DCVC | Data Collective
