Leah Oppenheimer Joins LDV Capital As a Summer Associate

LDV Capital invests in people building businesses powered by visual technologies. We thrive on collaborating with deep tech teams leveraging computer vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to analyze visual data. We are the only venture capital firm with this thesis. We regularly host Vision events – check out when the next one is scheduled.

I’m thrilled to be joining the LDV Capital team for the summer to work on the 2020 LDV Insights report, deal pipeline, and portfolio company advisory work. My main draw to LDV Capital was the focus on people: from the thesis focused on investing in deep, technical people; to the monthly dinners focused on building community; to the annual Summit bringing together thought leaders across the visual technology industry. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on the human side of deep technology, and the impacts that incredible entrepreneurs have on all of our everyday lives.

I recently worked at UpRamp/CableLabs, where I supported Fiterator, the industry startup accelerator for the cable, video, and broadband industry. In that role, I led marketing and operations for the accelerator, along with providing marketing support to portfolio companies. Prior to that, I lived in London for three years where I worked at several boutique consultancies in business development and thought leadership across a wide range of sectors, including technology, private equity, CPG, and retail, and led marketing for an early-stage startup focused on university event management. I’ll be starting my MBA at Columbia Business School in August, and in my spare time I enjoy running, driving & hiking in the mountains, solo traveling, apartment gardening, and boating (fun fact: I grew up on a boat docked off of the Upper West Side of Manhattan!).

Joining LDV Capital has been my first time starting a new role without ever meeting the team in person. Despite the challenges that have come with that, I have already learned so much in my first month on the job, and I look forward to continuing my dive into deep visual technology, investing, and entrepreneurship over the next two months.

If you’re building something in the visual technology space, passionate about agricultural technology, or want to talk about the impact of technology on daily life for humans, get in touch — I’d love to hear from you.
